We practice in both Architecture and Landscape Architecture, embracing philosophical underpinnings borne from both worthy professions. Key to our thinking is the essential idea that a structure and its environment are one. So often the building is conceived independently of the site, leaving such opportunities for integration unrealized.
We seek to blur the distinction by allowing the posture and configuration of the building to be driven by environmental influences. We are allowing the site to be more than a context for the structure, but to become part of the whole. We have found this approach essential to place making, where a building affordance, its ability to communicate shelter, repose and to relate its humane purpose provides an indelible image to the consciousness of users. We are always seeking to enrich the lives of our users and clients.
